Canadian healthcare costs lower.

Yesterday's Star Phoenix carried a short clarification from Don Kossick, the co-producer of the video "Universal Health Care Message to America from Canadian Doctors and Experts".

The video, which Fern Hill posted here at Dammit Janet (thanks for linking here, Fern!) is intended to correct some of the widespread misconceptions circulating in healthcare debate. Anyone interested in the current healthcare reform debate who hasn't yet seen Kossick's video really ought to check it out.

So...our costs are lower. And our life expectancy is longer. And our infant mortality levels are lower. And our access to potable water is better. And higher levels of care are more universally accessible.

But...WAIT TIMES! And...errr...SOCIALISM!!

Contrary to popular belief in the United States, our system also spends less money on bureaucrats per capita than theirs does.
