Brad Wall discovers ugly side of profit-based healthcare delivery.

The Wall government's little stunt of attempting to purchase healthcare for Saskatchewanians from B.C. seems to have hit a bit of an ironic snag in the fine print: B.C. may be looking at charging premiums for taking out of province patients.

Improving Saskatchewan wait-times for elective surgeries isn't the easy (nor quickly accomplished) task that the Sask. Party has been trying for years to portray it as. Instead of magic-bullet ploys that cater to his base, perhaps Wall should be paying more attention to Saskatchewan's own healthcare delivery. A little consideration of the impact his anti-labour "essential services" legislation may have on it might even be in order.
