I am Ezra's extreme lack of self-awareness.

Even if one swallows all of the right-wing hysteria over goal-gate, Layton's arm-pat still comes nowhere near matching the aggregate of Mr. Levant's own record of shameless self-promotion.

Keep tilting, Ezra Quixote.

Of course, one of these things is not like the other.

Tell me, Audrey: can you discern the difference between Jack Layton pushing people out of the way so he can be seen by a camera in a public place and Ezra Levant advertising his book on his blog?

It's pretty clear that your argument here is based on a false equivalent. I wonder what your hero Robbie Day would have to say about that?

(In reality: not much. IOKIYA"P".)

As for embarrassingly shameless self-promotion, Audrey, I'd remind you that you have that one all sewn up.

Yay! A rhetoric of assholery partay!

So glad that you brought your obsessive blogging grievance and reading comprehension skills, Pat! Now all we need issome great muzak.

Patrick Ross said...

...Is that it?

Just keep on avoiding that painful inward journey, Audrey. You aren't embarrassing anyone other than yourself.

Audrey II said...

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but "What Patrick Ross considers to be embarrassing" doesn't carry much in the way of pejorative weight.

If I ever do decide to try to cultivate a reputation like the one "Tha Flamethrower" has established, I'll be certain to review your gracious blogging advice.

Patrick Ross said...

Hmmmmm.

I suppose you think that's supposed to mean something. Unfortunately, coming from a self-indulgent, self-following, hypocritical twit, that kind of preening is absolutely meaningless.

Try again. Try harder.

Wow...
"can you discern the difference between Jack Layton pushing people out of the way so he can be seen by a camera in a public place ..."
so this is the level of Patrick's observation skills...
No wonder he saw triangles when everyone else saw octagons.
Not only is his reading comprehension sadly lacking, he can't even see properly.
Better see an eye doctor sometime, Patrick.

Patrick Ross said...

Well, Sparkles, it seems like only you and your ilk are the only ones having trouble seeing this video clearly.

Layton looking at TV located away from camera.

Bar erupts. Layton looks into camera, waves at the camera, pushes woman's arm out of the way so he can be seen.

As for Audrey lecturing anyone about self-promotion or distraction, well... that's just priceless.

As for an "octagons" moment, I'd be seeing your good friend Robbie Day about his. It seems like he, the groupthinkers, and the chickenwankers are the only ones buying the NDP press department's spin as gospel truth.

The strawman - check.
The obsession with C.C. - check.
The namecalling - check.
The non-sequitur - check.
The I win/ you've-been-spanked declaration. - check.
The adolescent bluster in place of an actual argument - check.
The completely self-unaware dispensing of blogging advice - check.

All that's left now is some last-word whoring and this thread will look like pretty much all the others. "Try a little harder", indeed.

And thus Audrey finishes her disingenuous reading of terms she doesn't really understand. If she did, she'd realize that she indulges herself in those very things on a constant basis.

Which, one supposes, she thinks makes for a good distraction. But the question remains:

Is Jack Layton grabbing some woman's arm and pushing it out of his way so he can be seen on TV the same as Ezra Levant posting an ad on his blog, or is it different?

Try again, Audrey. Try harder.

Patrick Ross said...

On second thought, Audrey, don't bother. It's too much fun watching you play a game of "avoid the painful inward journey at all costs" and pretending that you haven't been humiliated.

It's just a reminder of how far beneath me you really are. It helps to get them every now and then.

Sparky said...

Wow, the lack of self awareness is trumped by the massive ego...
Is amazing how Patrick just doesn't implode in his own little gravity well...

Patrick Ross said...

And thus Sparky leads off in the "comiseration/reassurance" portion of the comment thread:

"Yes, so what if he's got us undeniably dead to rights on our own hypocrisy? We'll pretend otherwise."

You folks are so predictable. I'd almost take pity on you -- you know, if it wasn't for that whole "complete and utter contempt for you" thing.

Southern Quebec said...

Patrick...you forgot to mention Dear Leader taking his own personal photographer to the same event where Layton was. I sure you just forgot...

Sparky said...

Predictability when dealing with the inane... Surprise us with making a truthful point sometime Patrick, and we'll see what happens...

Sparky said...

And speaking of 'dead to rights'...
There was that small matter of triangles
And there was that small matter of no deficit
and there was that small matter of 'the whole of the internet'
and there was that small matter of voting for pm...
and there was that small matter of, well, just about anything that Patrick whines about here that's demonstrably based in ignorance--willfully or not...
Patrick's so predictable--anything he states--if I'd bet on the exact opposite, I'd be rich.
and why don't you throw around more unsubstantiated claims of other people's racism while your at it, Patrick--be as predictable as ever...
You know what would not be predictable? If Patrick could back up any of his claptrap with more than his own say-so. If Patrick could just once admit that he was wrong on the above points (and the litany of others) instead of yipping about 'hollow victories'. If Patrick could go a whole conversation with well documented and researched points to back up his claims instead of whining about 'cc and his ilk'... My god you're obsessed. I guess it's part 'n parcel with your station in life--always bitching about those that are smarter than you.

Patrick Ross said...

Hark! Do you hear what I hear?

It's the sound of Sparkles the Magical Retard trying to cover his humiliation with a full-throated re-telling of old half-truths.

Unfortunately for you, Sparkles, that's now even more meaningless than it ever was before, mostly because it can all be countered as such:

"Please, please, pleeeeeeease pay no attention to the man waving to the camera."

Patrick Ross said...

(It's also amusing that half of those half-truths actually concern arguments that Sparky lost -- as it pertains to l'affaire Kennedy, he actually lost that one in truly pitiful fashion.

Details, kids. Details.)

Sparky said...

Patrick, you're lying again--you may want to look into that sometime

Patrick Ross said...

What's amusing, Sparkles, is that you know full well that I'm not.

That is, either you know that or you're simply out of touch with reality.

Just like it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see Jack Layton getting pushy/grabby with that woman on TV.

You either know full well that Layton's embarrassed himself, or you're out-of-touch with reality.

Which brings us down to the ultimate thrust of the matter:

Either you're being dishonest, or you're delusional. I have my suspicion regarding which it is, personally. The sad thing is that you may not even know for certain yourself.

Sparky said...

Lack of self awareness spoke thusly "Either you're being dishonest, or you're delusional. I have my suspicion regarding which it is, personally. The sad thing is that you may not even know for certain yourself"
Truer words have yet to be spoken with regards to one Patrick Ross.

Patrick Ross said...

My, how very drole.

"I know you are, but what am I?"

Sounds like Sparles' been brainstorming for comebacks with his local special ed class again.

(Please pay no attention to that man waving to the camera.)

Sparky said...

Zzzzz... zz..z....z

Someone wake me when Patty says something coherent and truthful...

Patrick Ross said...

Sorry, Sparkles, but you already used that line.

Call me back when you get some less banal material.

Sparky said...

Zzzzz...zz...
Wake me when you want to face reality...

Patrick Ross said...

Which reality is that, Sparkles? The one in which you re-define what respectful commentary is just because you want to? The one in which you ignore the dynamics of Canada's electoral system just because you want to? The one in which you ignore video evidence just because you want to?

I hate to break it to you Sparkles, but that isn't reality. You're living in a fantasy world.

Audrey II said...

It's true, Sparky. You are living in a fantasy world.

Thank goodness Pat's around to remind everyone of to keep everyone reality where octagons are really triangles, where Canada isn't in a deficit, where Kent Hovind isn't a creationist, where Canadians really do elect their PMs, where atmospheric CO2 levels can reach toxic levels before they would effect the climate, where his dishonest and failed attempt at provocateurism was really all part of his master plan and proved something other than his own depravity, and where Kirk Cameron's "Crocoduck" proposition was not an illustration of creationist stupidity and the subject of ongoing ridicule.

If only we could all be that rooted in reality.

Self-awareness FTW!

Now here's some moar awesome Rhetoric of Assholery Partah Muzak! Play us out, Kash Kid Kat!

Patrick Ross said...

I suppose that would also be the same reality where Audrey pretends she doesn't self-promote just because she wants to.

And on that note...

...Who's Kent Hovind?

It's kind of sad when Audrey has to resort to blatantly making arguments up to cover her humiliation.

Patrick Ross said...

Self awareness, y'all. Self awareness.

Sparky said...

Zzzzz..zzz.z.zzzzz...
Good nap time here--keep it up Patty.
