Church abuse apologist reinvents history.

Sexual abuse of children was considered a crime in the 60s and 70s, and there's a self-evident difference between the justice system making decisions regarding criminal culpability / potential avenues of rehabilitation and/or treatment and the cover-up that the Catholic church engaged in with respect to the abuse of children by its clergy.

(My apologies for having to route traffic through what should be the top result of a Google search for the post in question, but apparently some people desperately want pulpit that's free from criticism, and redirect traffic from critiques to pictures of aborted fetuses)

When you become so devoted to an institution that you're willing to defend things like its efforts to compel child rape victims to put their lives at risk to carry their attackers fetuses to term or that you'd compare the criminal justice system's efforts to rehabilitate sex offenders with the Catholic church's cover up, you've gone beyond mere simple loyalty and ventured into dangerous, fanatical zealotry. Such an approach is far more than simply pro-life or pro-justice or pro-goodness, it's relativism where the Church can do no wrong: Church uber alles.

...And there isn't a mask in the world large enough to hide that kind of ugliness.

Talk about illustrating my point. I've edited the above post to hopefully bring up the appropriate Google search result and provide a work-around for any control-freak link-redirection idiocy.

About time these points were made. As strongly as you make them. Keep up the great work!
