Republican protection-of-rapists bill drawing more attention

Democrats (well, most) are continuing to not only fight back against, but also create public awareness of the new Republican congressional effort to re-define rape as a sop-toss to their rabid base.

Time will tell whether or not the apathetic U.S. electorate will continue to let the teabagging inmates run the asylum or whether buyers remorse and a dawning realization of exactly how radical the new crop of conservative congressmen really are will create any kind of discernible electoral backlash. At the very least, this ought to be the kind of thing that might make some of the vaunted "Soccer Mom" voters that were so sought after in the last election reconsider supporting a political movement that thinks it's not rape if you don't fight back hard enough.
