"The Best Thing About The Canadian Election"?

"The Interim", which bill's itself as "Canada's life and family newspaper" carried this piece today, rejoicing over one of the lesser known side-effects of the current dissolution of parliament:
"As Xtra!, the homosexualist newspaper reminds us, Bill C-389, which would add transsexual and transgender to the Canadian Human Rights Act and the hate crimes provisions of the Criminal Code, has died on the Senate Order Paper because the election was called."
Yup, you read that right: At least some Canadian Social Conservatives out there are celebrating the election getting in the way of protecting transgender and transsexual people from hate crimes.

As I've repeatedly said here, there's nothing like social conservativism when it lets its true face show.
